Chapter 9
Sin

What is sin (evil)?

Webster's Unabridged Dictionary defines sin as: 1. Transgression of divine law. 2. Any act regarded as such a transgression, esp. a willful or deliberate violation of religious or moral principle.

Where did sin come from?

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Does sin have a divine purpose?

Yes, I believe when God gave man 'free will,' as He did for the angels and a third of them rebelled, He had to have a way of discerning the hearts of His creation so that He could keep all of creation in harmony. Evil brings chaos, destruction and disharmony. By creating evil and allowing it to enter the hearts of man then giving the perfect sacrifice for man to overcome evil God could search the hearts and find the ones who would love and serve Him.

A righteous, holy and just God, whose main purpose is to keep the universe in harmony and to guarantee the existence of life and light so the universe can continue to grow and expand, cannot and will not allow corrupt and unrepentant man to bring chaos to His universe.

I believe God's perfect plan included bringing about a perfect creation made in His own image to become sons and daughters to assist Him in keeping the universe in harmony and expanding with life and light. For this to happen He set a process in motion to bring about the conclusion He desired --- innocent man, then redeemed man who He could eventually, with the sacrifice of the Impossible King, make sons and daughters. The thousand year reign of Christ will be where we will learn from Jesus how to rule the universe so everything will remain in harmony to glorify Him.

When Satan has again deceived all those who are not satisfied with God's rule but want to be gods, he will bring them all together again to attack God and try to overcome Him so they can become gods. This is Satan's last ditch attempt to save himself and overthrow God so he can take His place. Now these are as the sand of the sea in number and have lived under the rule of Christ for a thousand years in the perfect utopian society His reign has brought to the earth. But because their hearts have not been given to God but have become corrupt they gladly believe Satan's incessant and continual lies that man can become a god and in their ignorance and arrogance they believe they can bring down God and replace Him.

Unfortunately for mankind and Satan, God's longsuffering has come to an end and he sends down fire from heaven to devour this last vestige of mankind that have not given their hearts to Him.
