He will come down that we might be caught up!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 KJV 13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

What a fantastic and wonderful promise we have been given and we know God has never broken a promise to His children. We of this blessed generation see the prophecies being fulfilled right before our eyes daily and though we have waited 2,000 years for His promise to be fulfilled I praise God He has waited so I could be among those who will see the fulfillment come to pass. I know there are many Christians today and throughout history who struggle with this concept because we cannot imagine what it will be like to leave these bodies behind and soar up into the clouds to meet our Lord and Saviour in the air.

I know there are those who don't want to talk or think about the rapture or snatching away of the church because they have learned to love this life too much. They don't want to leave behind those things they have allowed themselves to become attached to, especially loved ones who have refused to receive Christ' finished work for them. The reasons are many and varied that Christians cite for not wanting to leave this life behind and begin their new life in heaven and much of it is due to not having a grasp on what Jesus has prepared for us in heaven. Not talking or thinking about it won't do anything but leave them unprepared because Jesus Has promised to come back for us and told us to know the signs of the times and to "WATCH." It is time to prepare your heart because the one who died for your sins is at the door! Will you open when He knocks or hide in a closet?

Christ is not valued at all unless He is valued above all. Christ, who died to save us, now lives to keep us.

Where Does Jesus fit on your list of priorities? Do you value Him above all? Jesus never said it would be easy, just worth it. Eternity waits for those who endure and stay faithful, where will you fit in God's plan for your future?

DO ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN
BY ALL THE MEANS YOU CAN
IN ALL THE WAYS YOU CAN
IN ALL THE PLACES YOU CAN
AT ALL THE TIMES YOU CAN
TO ALL THE PEOPLE YOU CAN
FOR AS LONG AS EVER YOU CAN

As I wrap up this particular study on "Who is Jesus" I am reminded that the Old Testament was written to point to the coming King. The New Testament was written about the King and this small study pales in comparison as to what God's word tells us about Jesus. Our God gave His all for you and me so that we might have a living relationship with Him. He is alive today waiting to hear from you. He wants to bless us, He wants to protect us, and He wants us to know the incredible love He has for us. But it will cost you for He wants all of you all the time, we must surrender to Him to receive all that awaits us.

I pray that this teaching by Mama Shirley has opened your eyes just a little more to who Jesus really is. There is nothing you are going through today or will go through in the future that Jesus doesn't want to be a part of, He just wants you to come and talk to Him!
