Today is the Day of Salvation Should Be Our Battle Cry

I, like a lot of so called “Baby Boomers,” grew up in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s and am a product of that culture. That culture believed there was a God but He wasn’t real to them. He was the God of ancient times and not relevant in today’s world. We never heard of Him answering prayers or performing miracles, actually working in people’s lives like He did thousands of years ago. We assigned Him to this role of an old man who finished His work and now was sitting on His throne in heaven watching as we worked things out for ourselves, mostly unsuccessfully.

Man has always made a mess of everything. Wars with millions killed, famines with millions more killed, global warming, genocide committed by those seeking power, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer. This is what life has been like all over this planet and every so often we stop and ask why?

The why is easy to answer if we’re honest? Sinful man is not capable of anything but more sin. We took God out of creation, we found other gods who were not as rigid in their requirements of us, we want what we want and we don’t care who gets in our way. We don’t want to love our enemies or care about those who need help. Sure there are many who give to help the poor, who volunteer their time to help others but why are they doing it? We have become a people who believe by being good God will overlook our sins and let us into Heaven because we did more good things than bad things. The scales will balance out in our favor and we’ll live happily ever after just like in the fairy tales.

Is the Bible the inspired word of God? Did the Holy Spirit actually give the words to the writers? Was Jesus the Son of God who came to earth to die for the sins of man? Everything the Bible says has been scrutinized and tested for two thousand years and there is more proof of its validity than any other document ever written yet we want to disbelieve things we don’t like in it and take the rest and corrupt it to man’s way of thinking so as to please ourselves and justify our sin.

Either the Bible is God’s complete inspired word or it’s not. Either Jesus is who He claimed to be or He is not. There is no middle ground here. God only gives two choices, believe what He has written, or reject Him. The Bible makes it perfectly clear God created the earth and the heavens; He created all things for His glory. Jesus made it perfectly clear He was the Son of God and the only way for man and woman to live in eternity with God.

John 14:6 ‘Jesus saith unto him, I am the way the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This leaves all those who believe in the free will of man a choice. You can believe Christ was the Son of God and therefore cannot lie and take Him at His word, accept His sacrifice and offer of forgiveness. Or you can believe Christ was just a good man but maybe a little eccentric or maybe you can even choose to believe He was just a nut case. The choice is yours to make. If you’re right then you have lost nothing, if you’re wrong and He was God in the flesh you stand to lose everything or worse! You would be wise to learn the truth so you can at least make an intelligent decision.

2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.

Either ALL scripture is inspired by God or none of it is; the choice is still yours, you can believe that it is all truth or discount it all as fairy tales. The Apostle John writing in the book of Revelations is very specific about how we are to handle the word of God.

Revelation 22:18-19 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book. 19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

I believe when God formed the heart of man He made a place that only He could fill but loved us enough to allow us the choice of whether or not we wanted to return His love. I would caution all who straddle the fence, the day of our Lord’s return is drawing near, and Bible prophecies are being fulfilled. The earth stands on the verge of self destruction and we have become so immune to it all we act like we just don’t care, after all haven’t we always managed to survive? Apostasy in the church is rampant, we call bad good and good bad, we have corrupted the Bible to the point no one wants to read it anymore. And all the while deluding ourselves into thinking we can usher in the Utopian society.

Now for the Good News! During these end times 175,000 people a day are coming to Christ. Of course you’ll never get the liberal press who is supposed to be impartial to print these facts. God is at work all over the world performing miracles, another thing the press won’t print for us to know. In Redding, California there is a church “Bethel Church” where 100’s of healings are happening every day, the congregation is going out to shopping centers and stores praying for people who are being healed of every imaginable illness all in plain sight of everyone. (Bet you haven’t heard about this either). The spiritual war that has been going on for many ages is heating up and is about to come to its conclusion. If you listen closely you can almost hear the footsteps of the Savior.

It’s time to decide which side you will be on and believe me you will have to make a choice whether you want to or not. Christians, the Lord is calling us to the battle. Now is not the time to sit in our pews. TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION should be our battle cry. The Holy Spirit is more active today than any time since the first century church began, drawing the lost and dying to redemption in Jesus Christ. The Lord has commanded us to go and preach the gospel to all tongues and nations including our own. I am much inspired by what the Lord is doing during these end times and look forward to seeing great revivals take place with healings and miracles happening as common occurrences. There are crowns waiting for those who know how to finish their race well. Will you stand before Jesus and hear “well done my good and faithful servant”? Will you be welcomed into the joy of your Lord? And who will you take with you?

For all those students of prophecy I would like to recommend a study of Revelation just completed by Jack Kelly with www.gracethrufaith.com It is a biblical look at the book so many have attempted to allegorize or spiritualize and have failed miserably. I have found Mr. Kelly’s biblical insight a great help in this time of corrupt teaching. It will be worth your time to pay his sight a visit and as always I covet your prayers and comments for our efforts to reach all of those who seek to become sons of God and “walk by faith.”
