The Soothsayers?
At the beginning of every year the "Soothsayers" come out in droves,
the ones who claim they can predict the future events that will happen in the coming year.
What always amazes me is the number of people who fall for these predictions. It has been
my experience in my 60 plus years that there is only one who can predict the future, in fact
is correct 100% on every prediction He has ever made.
Deuteronomy 18:20-22 KJV 20But the prophet, which shall presume to speak
a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.
21And if thou say in thine heart, how shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?
22When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass,
that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.

God's litmus test for those who would prophesize about the future is that
the thing prophesized must come to pass or we will know they spoke presumptuously.
With the above being said I invite everyone to keep the following list and check it
next year for accuracy to see if God's word holds true.

There is only one who can predict the future with 100% accuracy and He has written it down for us.
Yes there are some terrible things that will happen to this earth because man refuses to listen to God.
Man in his ignorance and pride has chosen to rebel against His creator but God has also told us that we,
His children, are not appointed unto the wrath of God. In fact, we have His promise that He is making a
home for us in His Father's house and has promised to come back for us.
John 14:1-3 KJV 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
"Let not your heart be troubled" ----- whatever the Soothsayers predict, there is only one who knows
what tomorrow will bring, only one who is in complete control of His creation and His love for You is unfailing.
Jeremiah 29:11 KJV For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Yes, the one who wrote each of your days in His book before one of them came to be is
whispering in your soul and speaks to your mind. Sometimes when you don't have time to listen,
He has to throw a brick at you to get your attention. The choice is yours --- listen to His whisper, or wait for the brick.
I want to thank Archie from California, a special child of God who has learned how to listen, for the e-mail which
God used to get me to listen and gave me the inspiration for this devotion.
As the time draws nearer for the promise of our Saviour to be fulfilled I pray if you have not
given your heart to the only one who can save you, you will listen to God's call on your life, for be
assured He is not willing that any should perish but all come to eternal life in His Son "Jesus the
Christ." He has promised that all that seek Him with all their heart will find Him. Listen and you will hear His call!
