Are you familiar with the name Gideon? I'm sure you've heard of the organization that distributes Bibles but do you know the Gideon from the book of Judges? Gideon was an Israelite farm laborer who threshed wheat to earn his bread so you can imagine what he was thinking when the Angel of the Lord appeared unto him and said: "The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valor." The Lord was calling Gideon to battle to release the Israelites from the oppression they had suffered for seven years due to their sinfulness for worshiping strange idols. It took them seven years to cry out to God but when they did God chose Gideon to deliver them.



Then God chose only three hundred men to help Gideon go up against over 100,000 Midianites. What overwhelming odds for this simple farm boy. But God knew his heart and this way only God would receive the glory for the outcome. Is there any doubt in your mind as to how all this turned out? You can read Gideon's story in Judges Chapters 6 and 7.

God is looking today for Gideon's to go up against inconceivable odds to deliver His children from the lies of Satan. The battles today's Gideon's will face are not fought with swords for the oppression we fight against is not physical but spiritual. The lies and deceitfulness of those in the spiritual world are even more pervasive and destructive than the oppression Gideon faced for they could but kill the body. Today's attacks are aimed at killing the soul. The attacks today try to convince God's children that He is not the almighty, holy and righteous God of creation.

In today's world we find many false interpretations being presented as the word of God by those who would try and make it clearer for us uneducated heathens to understand or make it more politically correct so none will be offended. We find in the New Testament Jesus used God's word to bring His children to the knowledge of truth and convict hearts with the intent of glorifying the Father, not with the intent of pleasing everyone. He died for the conviction and chastisement He brought to the religious leaders of His day.



Hebrew 4:12 KJV For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God is Spirit and He wrote His word by the Holy Spirit in the original manuscripts, (before man got involved and decided he knew better what the Holy Spirit was saying than God knew). So only those who carried His Spirit would gain understanding and for those who rejected Him no understanding was given. Read now the teaching of Jesus and open your ears, eyes and heart to gain understanding:

Matthew 13:3-15 KJV 3And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; 4And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: 5Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: 6And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. 7And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: 8But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. 9Who hath ears to hear let him hear. 10And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? 11He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 12For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. 13Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 14And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 15For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.


It is God who searches the heart and it is your heart He desires. If His Spirit resides in you and your heart is His you will have no problem understanding His word to you.

I know many will disagree with me but carnal man under Satan's whisperings has been corrupting Gods word for many hundreds of years. Why you ask would God allow that? For the same reason He put the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the center of the Garden and allowed Satan to deceive Adam and Eve. With your 'Free Will' you have the choice to choose to believe God or choose to believe Satan's lies that you shall surly not die but become as gods, knowing good and evil.

Or do you believe that all the new translations of God's word that have come out recently are inerrant? Satan the enemy of man has been hard at work since before the earth was formed and the first man placed in the Garden to bring man down with sin, after all that is his job and the reason he was created. In his mind he can't bring down God and replace Him without the help of those whom God said at the Tower of Babel, nothing shall be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.

Genesis 11:5-6 KJV 5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. 6And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.


The war still rages for the souls and hearts of man. Will you answer the call to be a mighty man (or woman) of valor for God? Are you ready to rule with Christ in all that is His?

Daniel 12:4 KJV but thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.


The time of the end is near and God has opened His word which He had Daniel seal up for all those who will with the guidance of the Holy Spirit seek His truth. With the access to knowledge we have today, those who seek truth with all their hearts will surely find it and discover the awesome God of creation, the holy, righteous and loving God who created man in His image to love forever.
