The Master Potter
Isaiah 64:8 KJV But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy
hand.
Romans 9:21 KJV Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto
dishonour?
There are many lessons that can be taught and learned from the above verses, not least the Sovereignty of the Almighty God
our creator. From them we could go into many different doctrines that are taught from God's word. I could write about the
doctrine of Election and just how does God choose those who will become children of God? (Wait you say, I thought all of
mankind were children of God!) Yes I do believe each of us was formed in our mother's womb just as the Bible says we were.
But God in His great wisdom knew we must all have "FREE WILL". Without free will we would be nothing but slaves or robots
with no option but to do our master's will. Without free will how could we ever choose to love our creator? Or choose to
reject Him? To become a child of the living God and live with Him in eternity we must by our own volition choose to believe
in Him. To be made in His likeness is to have the power to make a choice just as the angels were given the power of choice
even though a third of them chose to believe Lucifer's lies that they could attain godhood. That by the way is a lie that is
still taught today to millions of deceived lost souls. Souls who choose to believe the lie and despise the truth. Those who
choose to not search the scriptures. But God has an answer for them also.
Romans 1:20 KJV For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the
things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Romans 8:16 KJV the Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
These are very difficult things for the Christian to understand! How can man refuse to accept God if the Holy Spirit bears
witness with our spirit that we were created by God? If everything God made sees and understands His eternal power and
Godhead so that they are without excuse how can they deny Him?

If we could ask the angels, who rebelled, who were created by God and lived with Him in heaven -- why? I believe they would
answer because they believed Lucifer when he told them they could attain godhood. They of their own volition chose to be gods
instead of just angels. You see they also were given "free will" and chose to rebel just as man who rejects God has chosen by
his own volition to reject God. The Holy Spirit is given only to those who choose to believe in God. As a Christian if you
ask how can anyone not see that the universe and the world had a creator --- understand that God loved His creation enough to
give it free will even at the cost of losing some of them. He made Himself seen in all of creation in such a way that only
those who, like a third of the angels, refused to submit to a sovereign God. Without "free will" what would any of us be? ---
Certainly not made in the image of the eternal God. Certainly not given the opportunity to become sons and daughters of God.
But with "free will" we have the right to choose good or evil, the right to decide if we want to spend eternity with our
creator or decide to spend it without Him. We have the right to choose to believe Satan's lies or the truth God has presented
to us in His word.
But how does this line up with the doctrine of "Predestination?" If mankind has "free will" how can we have predestinated
lives? The Bible tells us that God is omnipresent and is not restricted to time as we know it but lives in all of time. He is
the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last. It is He who was, who is and who will be forever and since He lives in all
time as evidenced by His ability to make over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament about the coming of the Christ and then
seeing to the fulfillment of each and every prophecy, only God can write history before it happens!

Let's just imagine for a moment that at some point in your life you learned about God and about Jesus being crucified, then
raised from the dead, to pay the penalty for your sins and you chose to believe in Him. At that moment you were given the
gift of the Holy Spirit. God being omnipresent and all-knowing knew when you would choose Him or reject Him. If your decision
was to choose Him He could then predestine your life.
Romans 8:27-30 KJV 27and he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession
for the saints according to the will of God.
28And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according
to his purpose.
29For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the
firstborn among many brethren.
30Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he
justified, them he also glorified.
God made us to become His children, to love us and have us love Him. If you have been chosen to know Him - REJOICE -- let His
love for you grow and surround you with the knowledge that He has promised to never leave or forsake you.
Romans 8: 38-39 KJV for I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us
from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rest in the knowledge that God lovingly made you exactly as you are and has given you the Holy Spirit to mold and shape you
into the likeness of Jesus so that you can share eternity with Him.
