I Will Never Leave Or Forsake You

I am going to break-away from our study on praying to reassure those who are being bombarded daily with the evil that is going on around the world today. Everywhere we turn there's someone telling us about the latest massacres and genocidal rages, pandemics and pestilence going on around the world. Even the most stout hearted of souls have to stop and wonder, what is going on? Nuclear proliferation is rampant with everyone trying to get in the game. Hate seems to be the only factor in the minds of those who dream of ruling the world. From the President of Iran, who is willing to have half of the population of his Country killed to bring about world chaos, to the leader of North Korea who believes they are the master race and is willing to kill every baby who is not all North Korean or not perfect when born. We have seen this before, as King Solomon said, "There is nothing new under the sun." I won't even get into the Arab-Israel debate; that hatred goes back all the way to father Abraham. There is so much hatred there, who is right or who is wrong? A solution is impossible.

Where does all of this come from? Why is there so much hate in the world? Many books have been written to explain why man has become who he is today and it's not my intent to add to the theories. Man was made to walk in the garden in the cool of the day with his creator and have a close relationship with Him. Men choose to do otherwise and we are reaping the results of that decision and will continue to do so until the creator returns to draw all men unto Himself and renew that relationship but He did not leave us helpless or alone.

John 14:16 KJV, and I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;

John 14:26 KJV, But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

If you have accepted the substitution of God's Son for the payment of your sin debt and chosen him to be your Savior then you have the Holy Spirit living inside of you and He will abide with you forever.

The Apostle John tells us the words of Jesus in John 10:28-29, 28And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish; neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Through our faith in the work of the Savior we have been adopted into the family of God and should never fear what man can do.

Romans 8:15 KJV, For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV, For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Like all of you, being human, I worry about the evil going on in the world. Some of us seem to have forgotten how precious life is, some have become so callous that they don't think twice when they hear about whole families being killed or ten little girls being shot at school. People! This is not normal! This is evil manifesting itself and we know that this is what the Bible prophecies say will happen. For father will rise up against son and son will rise up against father.

Luke 12:32-34, 32Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom. 33Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. 34For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

No we are not to fear; we have, as children of God, been promised the kingdom!

John 14:1-3 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

I find that many Christians don't like to hear about having to leave this body and life to go to Heaven, although we are told there God will wipe away every tear and we will never know pain or sorrow. We were made to be with God and know Him. Something we just can't seem to accomplish here on earth.

Jesus has promised to never leave or forsake us. No matter what man does, we can rest assured as the Apostle Paul also knew: TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY IS TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD!
