THE DAY AFTER
Oh! To Think that I would live to see the day,
When all would come to bow and pray.
To humble themselves in fear and trepidation,
Searching now for truth and interpretation.
I never thought I'd see God's houses so full,
With so many now who are worshipful.
Throngs and crowds stand outside the door,
Oh! So many who never thought to come before.
What a tragedy they waited till "The Day After!"
Just yesterday everything was the same as always,
We ran our race with nary a thought of who to praise.
Now everything has changed and will never be the same,
God has removed His hand, who now shall we blame?
We heard His name and were told of His sacrifice,
Now He has come again and gone back to paradise.
Why were we who knew Him not, left behind?
Now we see, who were once so blind.
What a shame we could not see till "The Day After!"
Why could we not find the time to see Jesus and
Make room for Him in our hearts?
Why did we let worldly things draw us away from
Him so we could not do our parts?
Now those who refused to see have been left behind,
What were they thinking, what was on their mind?
Was it riches, security, pleasures or fame?
Now all they have left is their shame!
Why did they wait to seek Him "Till The Day After?"
I see many who tried to live the best they could,
And many more who tried to do the things they should.
Yes, so many who refused to understand,
So many whose hearts the truth could not withstand.
Jesus told us to do the works of God, not of man,
The works of God is to believe on Him whom God has sent,
To believe in Him and follow His command.
To teach the good news of the Messiah's first advent.
But serving God was not for you, time to wait you thought you had.
Has time really run out for all and is this truly the end?
He is a God of mercy and left the door open to make some glad,
If time for Jesus now you have found, you can no longer pretend.
Yes you waited "Till the Day After" Jesus came back
You missed your chance because it was the Spirit you did lack.
Now you will have the opportunity to again serve the Lord,
For He will need many with the courage to die by the sword.
A special crown awaits those who don't wait "Till the Day After."
