Poetry for Soothing the Soul and Lifting the Heart

I hope you, the reader, will take the time to review some of the poetry we will post here on the web-site. I have always found that poetry comforts and soothes my heart in times of trouble. King David, a man after God's own heart, found great solace in writing the Psalms and I often go to them for encouragement in my own life.

"She Takes My Breath Away" is a poem I wrote for my Pastor and his wife. Their second daughter was married on November 18, 2006 and I wrote it because I have given up two of my daughters to marriage and I know the emotion involved.

Some of the poems featured at this time are by a precious child of God who has graciously sent me some of the poems she has written. There will be others that are poems that I have read and really enjoyed and just wanted to share them with you. I do hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

You will find some of my other poems at the end of the stories I have written on women of the Bible; just click on the People Page.

If you have an original poem you have written and would like us to consider it for posting on our Poetry page we will be happy to take a look at it.
